Starfire, previously known as Koriand's , is not an Earth native. She is from Tamaran, a distant planet. Her older sister, Blackfire Komand's , believed otherwise. Blackfire wanted to take Starfire's claim on the throne. Starfire was able to control the starburst through these experiments. Starfire used his ability to escape to save his sister.
